"Who's Move"
Growing up in Michigan I spent many hours in the woods and often wondered what it would be like if I encountered a bear on the trail. When I moved to Saskatchewan I found out and luckily I was with my husband. We gave the bear room, he turned and went the opposite way that he came.

Often as summer was ending I would see gold finches checking out the Canada Thistle for tasty seeds.

"Keeping a Close Watch"

I encountered this Great Grey Owl on several walks into the forest near my home at Turtle Lake. I was impressed with the way it would sit there and peer down at me as I walked by. Later on I found out there was a nest near by.

"In a World of Spruce"

While hunting elk with my husband in the Fort a la Come Wildlife Management Unit, we came upon this male spruce grouse. I could clearly see why they call it a spruce grouse and this led to the painting.

"Free Falling"

I love to visit our National Parks that we have in North America. There is so much to see. This is at Mystic Falls in Yellowstone National Park.

"Sign of Winter"

We had not received any snowfalls yet when this particular snowy owl arrived from the North. But it wasn't too long after this that winter hit with a flurry, a blizzard and then temperatures down to -35 degrees centigrade.

In Yellowstone Park along the Yellowstone River, I found the fury near Tower Falls intriguing as it disappeared out of sight.
